Will a Better Economy Mean More Nursing Jobs?

One of the common misconceptions is that nursing jobs are recession proof. Now, it’s partially true that during hard economic times the last places to look to cut will be healthcare. I know what you’re thinking, that’s now what you’re thinking. But when it comes to our well being nursing jobs typically are safe. That does mean, however, that new jobs go unfilled, and that pay stagnates.

So although a bad economy doesn’t usually translate into massive layoffs in the medical field, it does mean that any growth will take years to materialize–just like any other industry really.

Is there some hope around the corner? Well if we look at the largest states it seems the worse is over, but that doesn’t mean that a hiring spree is imminent.
